Thank you so much Dick for making the best discus in the world. I have been throwing your discs for several years now and never go to a meet without them. They feel great in the hand, and fly great no matter what the wind conditions. Thank you for all that you do!

-Adam Kuehl
64.98m

Hi, Tom,

Thanks for the OTE discus endorsment. As you know, I designed and built the OTE discus for ten years before my retirement in 1996 at age 70. When I found that Gill-OTE had discontinued repairing OTE discs I immediately began to bebuild them personally. Your OTE disci are some of my first rebuilds. I hope they continue to serve you well.

Dick Held

I have thrown a 1.5 kg VHM OTE for 10 years and won 10 USA championships, 4 medals in the World Championships (including gold in 2003), and 3 gold medals in the Masters World Games using it. It is an exceptional discus in a headwind. Yesterday (7-6-07), practicing in a hurricane, I threw 179-8 with the OTE 1.5 and 202-3 with the HM OTE 1 kg discus. It has a great feel and jumps off your hand.

This was originally published on The Ring (4/5/07)

A quick note to publicly thank Dick Held for providing Ian Waltz, Jarred Rome, and Becky Breisch with implements from his brand new line of aluminum discii. The athletes have really enjoyed training with them and are excited to open up their seasons with the new implements. Should be fun to see how they react to the various meet locations that we have on the schedule this year!

Ian, Jarred, and Becky give their highest recommendations to these new discii and are in the process of sending some older models of their OTEs to be rebuilt by Dick.

Thanks again,

-Bud Rasmussen
Throws coach, US Olympic Training Center-Chula Vista, CA
